Ashes 2nd Test Day 2 saw a total of 359 runs and 9 wickets falling at Lord`s.

The Day started with Steve Smith scoring his 32nd international century ,who then fell to debutant Josh Tongue after scoring 110 off 184 balls.

Aussies squeezed runs though the wicket kept falling. visitors scored 416 runs as their last wicket fell to Ollie Robinson.

Travis Head played a quickfire 77 of 73 balls after which no other batter looked comfortable to bat.

Debutant Josh Tongue picked 3 wickets for 98 runs in 22 overs.

England started quietly before lunch but then it was Ben Duckett and Zak Crawley who build up a partnership to put England in front seat.  They were ahead in the game till Tea.

In the final session the visitors came back strongly as Duckett fell 2 runs short of a century as Hazlewood got rid of him with a short ball. He scored a134 ball 98.

Australians who were without Nathon Lyon as he injured his calf while fielding, got Root, Pope and Duckett out in the space of 8 over were again on the top.

Hosts are now stable with Captain Stokes batting on 17 and Harry Brook batting on 45 and Eng on 278/4.

It would be an interesting morning session as to see how these to approach the game on Day 3 .
