'The Trial' Review: Kajol Shines In a Gripping Legal Thriller Streaming on Hotstar

“The Trial” is a new legal drama-thriller series streaming on Hotstar that features Kajol as a lawyer who takes on a high-profile case defending her husband, who is entangled in a sex scandal in court.

His wife is Noyonika Sengupta, who was a top lawyer before joining a friend’s law firm and came 20 minutes late to the office on the first day.. The media mocks the couple for allowing this to happen when they have two underage daughters.

The Performance

Kajol delivers a stellar performance as Noyonika, who is a strong, smart, and confident woman who does not shy away from challenging the system. She portrays Noyonika’s passion, determination, and vulnerability with ease and grace. She also has great chemistry with Kubbra Sait as Sana, who plays Anjali, her assistant and confidante.
