‘Meg 2’ Review: Movie is too light and not better

'Meg 2' Review: Movie is too light and not better

The film is based on Steve Alten’s 1997 novel The “Meg 2: The Trench”.

The Meg (2018) does not feature the legendary new killer T-Rex-meg confrontation. However, the trailer for “The Meg 2: The Trench” shows that a giant prehistoric shark that emerged from the sea 65 million years ago bit T. still a fun place.

“Meg 2” looks like it’s going to be just as wild fun with this opening as the first movie.

Unfortunately, the trailer is just flattering, crammed into a three-minute runtime based on all the jokes (like the character getting eaten mid-sentence because they said the place is “mega-proof”), creatures, and action.

If you thought the remaining 113 minutes were full of bigger tricks, dirty monsters and better jokes, you’re in for a huge disappointment.

Horrible dialogue and bad writing, the decision jumps from point A to point L, then returns to point Q and ends at point Y, which is very difficult. Yes, video games don’t need to be studied and useful, but at least they need to be useful for stress relief.

Deep-sea diver Jonas Taylor (Jason Statham) becomes an eco-warrior on a mission after surviving a megalodon attack in the previous movie.

After a gathering of many throwing e-waste into the sea, Jonas wears a tuxedo to a dinner party where Jiu Ming (Wu Jing) presents his plan to save the sea from water.

In a suspicious turn, we learn of the deaths of Jiuming’s father Zhang and sister Suyin (played by Wenxuan Zhao and Bingbing Li in “The Meg”). Jiuming also introduced the special guest of the evening, the only megalodon in captivity, and had a good time crossing the water with his tail – meanwhile, the situation got worse. Suyin’s precocious 14-year-old daughter, Miyoung (Chae Yeon), insists on going with divers.

leaves the gang in the trenches to check on his new clothes or something and then everything goes wrong. Stowaways aren’t helping either.

Megalodon hunting in packs rather than in a traditional solitary fashion with squid, octopus, some strange amphibious dinosaurs, and evil miners. Everyone rushes around, and when there is silence (which usually happens), the megalodon sticks its head and smiles wickedly.

The party on Pleasure Island awaits defeat, Jonah chasing the megalodon with a jet ski-powered harpoon and stopping the megalodon at its feet at the dock (also part of the trailer). In addition to Statham and Cai, Page Kennedy stars as a DJ, engineer, and comedian, and Cliff Curtis plays James “Mike” McLeod, Taylor’s friend and director of research, and James “Mac” Mackreides reprises their roles.

‘Meg’ is the most interesting and ‘Meg 2’ is not clear.

Despite filming everything, the final mix was a horrible, slimy, watery mess. Even the boy’s survival didn’t help save the movie and reminded him of poor Pippet who didn’t make it in the shark movie Jaws.
