TV anchor Amrita Rai marries Digvijaya Singh [photos]

New Delhi: September 6, 2015. Congress General Secretary Digvijaya Singh has tied the knot with his girlfriend, TV anchor Amrita Rai in Chennai last month.

Amrita posted on Facebook and revealed the details of her marriage, but the date was not available.

Their wedding took place according to Hindu rituals and they also alter registered their marriage.

Amrita Rai is working for Rajya Sabha TV, was the wife of Anand Pradhan, a professor at Indian Institute of Mass Communication.

After the media had accessed their intimate pictures and leaked on the to the Internet, Digvijaya Singh had accepted his relationship with Amrita Rai.

Singh had said that Amrita and her husband are getting divorced, and they both would marry after the divorce proceedings are settled.

Singh’s wife Asha had passed away in 2013 after a prolonged illness. He has one son and four daughters.

In her statement, Amrita also mentioned that she is getting married to Digvijay for love and not for his property.

She stated that she had requested to give all his property to his son and daughters.

She also mentioned that social media targeted her all these days, and she maintained a dignified silence and kept working quietly.
