$11 Billion to Help Seniors with Property Taxes

Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro has proposed to increase the maximum property tax rent rebate to $1,000 for seniors.

The increase is significant from the current maximum rebate of $650. The income cap to receive the payment would also increase to $45,000 for both renters and homeowners.

The proposal has been met with bipartisan support in the state legislature. It is expected to be passed into law soon.

The increase in the rebate would provide much-needed relief to seniors struggling to pay their property taxes or rent. It would also help to offset the rising cost of living in Pennsylvania.
