Amitabh Bachchan, the legendary Bollywood actor, has expressed his displeasure over the anti-India remarks made by some Maldives ministers. In a tweet, he said that he was saddened and hurt by the comments that threatened the sovereignty and integrity of India.
During Indian PM Narendra Modi’s visit a few former ministers in the Maldives made derogatory remarks about PM Modi and Indians in general.
Bachchan, who has a huge fan following in Maldives, said that he loved the country and its people, and had visited it many times for shooting and vacation. He said that he hoped that the Maldives government would take action against the ministers who made such irresponsible statements.
To Virendra Sehwag’s tweet, Bachchan replied, “Viru paji .. this is so relevant and in the right spirit of our land .. our own are the very best .. I have been to Lakshadweep and Andamans and they are such astonishingly beautiful locations .. stunning waters beaches and the underwater experience is simply unbelievable “
