Apple updates OS for iPhone, Watch, TV at developer conference

The Apple annual software developer conference started after observing a few moments of silence for the victims of Orlando shooting. Speaking at the conference, CEO Tim Cook described the terrorist act as mindless and aimed at dividing and destroying the society.

The Cupertino based company is in the process of making its iPhone and other gadgets smarter. Taking a cue from its competitors, Google, and Amazon it has embarked on a program to add more artificial intelligence into its SIRI digital assistant, pictures, maps and other online services.

The tech giant announced new software features for its Watch and TV. It also unveiled a new a new look for its Music service. The Apple Pay feature will now be extended to the web and purchases can be made on the Mac computers.

The innovative techno company has taken into its stride the falling sales of its flagship, iPhone and is resolute to show that it can make gadgets which are indispensable for the common man.

After its brush with FBI, top executives are at pains to stress that every effort will be made to safeguard user privacy, and most of the data will be stored in encrypted form on the individual’s iPhone rather than on Apple’s servers.

Apple Watch was the first new introduction After Cook took over the mantle from Steve Jobs in 2011. It gets an upgrade in September, and the fitness app will also be useful to wheelchair bound users.

The new OS will also have the “SOS” feature which will automatically call the emergency services during a crisis.

SIRI, the voice controlled app will now be compatible with Mac desktop and laptop. It will now locate the files for the user much faster and perform some other feats.

It will also be integrated with Apple TV where it will search channels with voice command. It will also search YouTube and I-Tunes for the user.
