Manchester United has scored a digital goal by launching “Fantasy United,” the Premier League’s inaugural Web3 fantasy football game.
Built on the Tezos blockchain, this innovative game allows supporters to collect Player Trading Cards featuring first-team players from the men’s squad. These cards come in Classic, Rare, and Ultra-Rare editions, each uniquely hand-drawn and dynamically updated with real-time stats throughout the season, reported CryptoBriefing.
In Fantasy United, fans can compete against friends through mini-leagues, earning in-game points based on real-life actions of Manchester United players—goals, assists, tackles, and saves. The game kicks off with the Premier League opener against Fulham on August 16. Additionally, supporters can pit their wits against former Reds in legends leagues.
The collaboration between Manchester United and the Tezos Ecosystem has seen remarkable success, following the release of “The Devils,” the club’s original digital collection in 2022. With nearly 100,000 community members, fans can now enjoy both digital and real-world experiences, thanks to this exciting Web3 initiative.
