To support video creators, Google increased the subscription prices for YouTube Premium in India, affecting various plans.

As YouTube continues to invest in original content, licensing agreements, and exclusive shows, the costs associated with providing premium features (such as ad-free streaming and offline downloads) may have risen. Increasing subscription prices helps offset these expenses.

  1. Student Plan:
    • Old Price: Rs 79
    • New Price: Rs 89
    • Percentage Increase: 12.6%
    • Features: Ad-free streaming, high-bitrate streaming at 1080p, offline download, background playback, and ad-free streaming on YouTube Music.
  2. Individual Plan:
    • Old Price: Rs 129
    • New Price: Rs 149
    • Percentage Increase: 15%
    • Same features as the student plan.
  3. Family Plan:
    • Old Price: Rs 189
    • New Price: Rs 299
    • Percentage Increase: 58.2%
    • Allows up to five members to use YouTube Premium on a single subscription.

Other prepaid plans have also seen price adjustments. For instance:

  • Individual (Prepaid Monthly): Rs 159
  • Individual (Prepaid Quarterly): Rs 459
  • Individual (Prepaid Annual): Rs 1,490

These new prices apply to both new subscribers and existing Premium users. YouTube Premium remains a valuable choice for an ad-free, high-quality streaming experience.

Remember, YouTube Premium is more than just ad-free videos—it’s about supporting creators and artists while enjoying uninterrupted content. So, despite the price hike, it’s still worth considering!
