India vs New Zealand 2nd Test is being played in Pune. India is behind by 243 runs after posting 16/1 at Stumps on Day 1. India reached 16/1 in 11 overs at Stumps, with Shubman Gill (10*) and Yashasvi Jaiswal (6*) remaining unbeaten.

After Rohit Sharma brought Sundar, he dismissed Ravindra on 65 off 105 in the second session with an unplayable delivery. Ravindra and Devon Conway appeared to be rather relaxed during the first thirty minutes of the second session.
This went on for a few more minutes after that, but Ashwin finally fired Conway after a fairly unimpressive performance. In 141 balls, he had amassed 76 runs. After that, Ravindra and Mitchell shared a fourth-wicket partnership of 59. Ravindra surpassed 50 for the second time in this series.

Conway hit a four off the opening ball of the session, which was bowled by Jasprit Bumrah, to surpass his half-century. Before Rohit Sharma gave the ball to Ashwin, the bowler bowled four overs at the beginning of the session, with Washington Sundar sending them in from the other side.
On Day 1 of the second Test in Pune, Ashwin had earlier taken two wickets in the opening session, which may have left New Zealand feeling more unsatisfied than the other team. Conway scored 47 off 108 balls as New Zealand reached 92/2 in 31 overs at lunchtime.
