
Hindi movie ‘Chhaava’, starring Vicky Kaushal will be released in the Telugu-speaking states Andhra Pradesh and Telangana on March 7, 2025.
Geetha Film Distributors is taking charge of the release, ensuring the film reaches a wide audience. Directed by Laxman Utekar and produced by Dinesh Vijan under the Maddock Films banner, ‘Chhaava’ explores the life and legacy of Sambhaji Maharaj, the fearless second ruler of the Maratha Empire.
Success in Hindi Raises Expectations for Telugu Version
‘Chhaava’ has already created a strong buzz in Telugu, particularly following its tremendous success in Hindi, where it grossed over 670 Crores worldwide.
This success has raised expectations for the Telugu version, and trade experts are optimistic about a similar positive reception. The film will be released in over 550 screens across the Telugu states, making it one of the most extensive releases in recent times.

Ahead of the Telugu release, Vicky Kaushal released a video message expressing his happiness to bring the esteemed movie to the Telugu audience. “I am thrilled to present ‘Chhaava’ to the Telugu audience. Star-Studded Cast and Crew
‘Chhaava’ stars Vicky Kaushal in the titular role of Sambhaji Maharaj, with the talented Rashmika Mandanna playing the female lead.
The film also features Akshaye Khanna as Mughal Shahenshah Aurangzeb, Ashutosh Rana as Sarsenapati Hambirao Mohite, Divya Dutta as Soyarabai, and Diana Penty as Zinat-un-Nissa Begum, Aurangzeb’s daughter.
The film’s music is composed by the legendary A. R. Rahman, with dialogues penned by Rishi Virmani.
