Adult Female Leopard Rescued After Being Found in Snare

Forest officials rescued an adult female leopard that had been caught in a snare in the Mathlai area. Upon receiving urgent information about the distressed animal, a dedicated rescue team from the Ralamandal Wildlife Sanctuary mobilized immediately to the scene, ensuring the leopard’s safe extraction.

The Free Preee Journal quoted Yohan Katara, Superintendent of Ralamandal Sanctuary, Indore saying, “The leopard was caught in a trap, but fortunately, our team reached on time and managed to rescue her without any serious injuries.”

Prompt Response from Wildlife Officials

Local authorities were alerted early in the morning about the leopard trapped in the snare. After evaluating the situation, the rescue team promptly descended into the forest. “We knew time was of the essence to ensure the safety of the animal,” said a spokesperson from the Ralamandal Wildlife Sanctuary.

The team managed to locate the leopard within hours of the report. Utilizing specialized tools and safety equipment, they carefully freed her from the snare. “Our primary concern was the well-being of the leopard,” the spokesperson added. After the rescue, the animal was thoroughly examined for injuries and was found to be in stable condition.
