The notice claims that Rawal had accepted ₹11 lakh as a signing amount and participated in the film’s teaser shoot before withdrawing unexpectedly. The production house has warned that if the demand is not met within seven days, they will pursue civil and criminal legal action.
Paresh Rawal’s Exit Sparks Legal Battle
The dispute centers around Rawal’s sudden withdrawal from the highly anticipated sequel. According to Cape of Good Films, Rawal had publicly confirmed his involvement in “Hera Pheri 3” via a social media post on January 30, 2025. He later signed a Term Sheet on March 27, accepting a ₹11 lakh advance payment.
The production house asserts that Rawal actively participated in creative discussions alongside Akshay Kumar and Suniel Shetty and was featured in over three minutes of teaser footage filmed on April 3, 2025. However, his unexpected departure citing creative differences has reportedly caused substantial financial losses and disrupted the film’s schedule.

Cape of Good Films Demands Compensation
In its legal notice, Cape of Good Films has accused Rawal of unjustified withdrawal, stating that his exit has jeopardized the momentum of the film. The company insists that Rawal never raised concerns about the script or creative direction during pre-production.
The notice reads, “Mr. Rawal had publicly acknowledged his participation in the film on January 30, 2025, and later formalized his commitment by executing a Term Sheet on March 27, accepting ₹11 lakh as part of his remuneration. Acting in complete reliance on his endorsement, Cape of Good Films incurred substantial production and promotional expenditures, including those for the teaser and initial film shoot.”
Industry Reactions and Uncertain Future
The controversy has sent shockwaves through Bollywood, with Suniel Shetty expressing disappointment over Rawal’s exit. He stated, “Hera Pheri cannot happen without Paresh Rawal. His departure is shocking and heartbreaking.”
Meanwhile, director Priyadarshan acknowledged the financial strain on the production, emphasizing that Akshay Kumar has already invested heavily in the film.
