Dubai, September 14, 2025 — In a landmark achievement for institutional equity, Dubai Police has become the first police force in the UAE to receive the prestigious ISO 53800:2024 certification for gender equality and women’s empowerment, awarded by Bureau Veritas.

This global recognition marks a significant step forward in the force’s commitment to building a fair, inclusive, and future-ready workplace.

A Milestone in Institutional Excellence

The certification reflects the Dubai Police’s alignment with the UAE National Policy for Empowering Women 2023–2031, underscoring its efforts to embed gender equality across all levels of the organization.

From equal pay and inclusive decision-making to work-life balance and anti-discrimination training, the force has met rigorous international standards.

Major General Sheikh Muhammad Abdullah Al Mualla, Director of the General Department of Excellence and Pioneering, emphasized the depth of this achievement:

“This certification is not just a recognition; it is proof of our institutional culture that puts fairness and equal opportunity first. We want every employee, regardless of gender, to find a workplace that motivates and supports them.”

He added that the milestone reinforces Dubai and the UAE’s growing global reputation in gender equality and empowerment.

Women’s Council Leads the Charge

The Dubai Police Women’s Council, under the leadership of Expert Lieutenant Colonel Anoud Al Saadi, played a pivotal role in securing the certification. Their efforts ensured that gender balance, leadership opportunities, and employee well-being were prioritized across departments.

Lt. Col. Al Saadi expressed pride in the collective effort:

“This success is the outcome of collective responsibility and teamwork across all departments. It reflects Dubai Police’s vision of enabling women to take leadership and operational roles, showcasing their talents in multiple fields.”

She also highlighted the force’s commitment to maintaining a healthy balance between professional responsibilities and personal well-being:

“It also highlights our commitment to balance between work and life, ensuring stability and happiness for everyone in the organisation.”

Setting a Global Standard

By achieving ISO 53800:2024, Dubai Police not only sets a precedent for law enforcement agencies in the region but also positions itself as a global model for gender-inclusive governance. The certification validates years of strategic planning, policy reform, and cultural transformation aimed at empowering women and promoting fairness.

This milestone is expected to inspire other institutions across the UAE and beyond to adopt similar frameworks, reinforcing the nation’s broader vision for inclusive development and leadership.
