Plot and the actors

While they both are getting to know each other after marriage, Sundareshwar still seeking a job lands in a company in Bangalore. The complexities that follow in a couple’s life after sulking up for a long-distance relationship ranges from being compelled to follow the status quo and toxic nature of the new workforce, the miscommunication and suffocation that one feels within the family, and the dichotomy one has to deal with ranges from fight or flight in a relationship forms the basic storyline of the movie.

Dull representation of the South Indians

The content generally speak volumes even if it is not in the Hindi language. The movies like this which include individuals from a particular state of India, there is an effort made to represent that community, especially through language.

Watching a Tamil family in Madurai speaking in fluent Hindi within their houses.

This shows the North Indian perspective of how a Tamil family would sound like in their day-to-day lives. The Rajinikanth aaiyo and Jigar Tanda stereotype are shown in full glory. Many dialogues sound like how a North Indian will butcher the Tamil language. This is simply not good while a film is showcasing a particular community.
This era requires a better representation especially of the communities that are distinct in language and culture.

The message of the movie

It is in the silences and the moments between Sundar and Meenakshi that draw a person into the movie. The movie wants to draw attention to the unions through arranged marriages and the hurdles one has to face in a long-distance relationship. The intentions of individuals fighting for each other and persevering that longing for the couple to work. This movie has the feel-good stuff but some lack of representation with cast and language is baffling to be ignored.

Audience response

The movie got some mixed reviews where some found this movie giving the thrill of first love while others found it plain boring.
