New Zealand won the toss and elected to bat against Pakistan on another cold day in Christchurch. Pakistan fielded an unchanged XI that beat Bangladesh by 21 runs on Friday.

NZ scored 147/8 runs in their allotted 20 overs. Pakistan needs to score 148 to win the 2nd T20 match.

New Zealand does not have Mitchell Santner available, the allrounder on family leave after the birth of his child earlier this week. Blair Tickner, called up for the cover, takes his place on the side.

Fast bowler Lockie Ferguson sat out with an abdominal injury. At the top, New Zealand picked Finn Allen ahead of Martin Guptill.
