‘The Shaukeens’ movie review and box-office collections report

One of the biggest releases this week is “The Shaukeens” that hits the screens on November 7, 2014.

Directed by Abhishek Sharma, the movie stars veterans like Anupam Kher, Piyush Mishra and Annu Kapoor in the leading roles along with Lisa Haydon.

Reports suggested that the screen count of “The Shaukeens” is close to 1500+, which is decent given that the movie has no big star except for Akshay’s cameo.

The main highlight of the movie is Akshay Kumar who has an extended appearance in the film.

“The Shaukeens” has been produced by Ashvin Varde, Murad Khetani and Akshay Kumar together and tells the story of the three veterans and their old life tryst for love and attention.

The movie has been designed as a comedy and is aimed at both multiplexes and single screens.

With just one movie notable movie “Rang Rasiya” releasing on the same day, “The Shaukeens” is likely to have the bigger lead for the weekend.

However, Shah Rukh starrer “Happy New Year” is still going strong and will take up a good a number of screens.

The producers of know the big masses will need time to accept the movie, and therefore, the content will play a dominant role in overall box office collections.

The 1st day collections of “The Shaukeens” should be anywhere between Rs. 2-6 crores, depending on the initial shows and word of mouth.
