Maharashtra Government tells Police to evaluate ‘PK’ Content

‘PK’ the Rajkumar Hirani movie which stars Aamir Khan in the lead role has been fuming controversies from the date of its release.

The movie which is allegedly throwing bad light on Hindu Gods is being heavily criticized by religious organizations in various parts of the country.

In the wake of all these controversies, Maharashtra Government has moved a step further, and they have asked the State Police Department to look into the content of ‘PK’.

Maharashtra Home Minister, Ram Shinde has confirmed this news, and he told that instructions has been given to additional DGP Deven Bharti to look into complaints from several individuals and organisations against the film.

Additional DGP Deven Bharti, on the other hand told that he is awaiting a written order for scope and reference of the enquiry.

The decision to conduct a Police enquiry has fetched mixed reactions from all corners. The Film Fraternity panned this move, and they told that it undermines the authority of ‘Central Board of Film Certification’ which gave a green signal to the movie.

The controversies have not affected the Box Office Collections of the movie in any manner. As of now, the film has grossed more than 250 Crore INR and this figure may even reach more heights in the coming days.

On the other hand, Bajrang Dal activists are conducting wide protests against the movie in Mumbai. Last Sunday, they protested at 18 locations in Mumbai. On Monday, the protestors vandalized theaters in Gujarat, and they warned the theater owners to stop screening.
