On Thursday, March 30, Netflix released a trailer on Youtube confirming the Scott Pilgrim anime series featuring all the original cast of the movie “Scott Pilgrim VS The World.”

The cast

The project, which was initially rumored to be in production at Netflix in January 2022, has now been formally ordered into a series. 

As per Variety reports, Bryan Lee O’Malley, the creator of the “Scott Pilgrim” graphic novel series, will co-write the anime version alongside BenDavid Grabinski, as previously reported. They will both work as co-showrunners.

The casting includes Scott Pilgrim, played by Michael Cera, Ramona Flowers, by Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Matthew Patel, by Satya Bhabha, Stacey Pilgrim, by Anna Kendrick; Envy Adams, by Brie Larson, Kim Pine, by Alison Pill; Julie Powers, by Aubrey Plaza, Todd Ingram by Brandon Routh, Gideon Graves by Jason Schwartzman, Young Neil by Johnny Simmons, Stephen Stills by Mark Webber. The rest of the cast members will be announced later.

The video game “Scott Pilgrim vs. the World” composer Anamanaguchi will provide fresh tracks to the production. Joseph Trapanese will assist him in completing the score.

The Plot

The main character of the graphic book is a bassist and slacker named Scott, who lives in Toronto. He falls in love with Ramona Flowers, but before they can start dating, he needs to get rid of her seven nasty ex-boyfriends. The graphic work was published in six volumes, the most recent of which came out in 2010.

Since its 2010 premiere, the movie adaptation has developed a huge following.
