Kamal Haasan, the actor, and politician, reacted to Sudipto Sen’s disputed film “The Kerala Story” by calling it propaganda.
A Propaganda
“The Kerala Story” is a propaganda film spreading hate throughout the nation by telling lies, according to veteran actor Kamal Haasan, who has voiced his view about the movie and its problems.
“The Kerala Story,” starring Adah Sharma, smashed several box office records, and despite the controversy, director Vipul Amrutlal Shah’s movie became a hit.
Speaking with reporters on the sidelines of the IIFA Awards and Weekend, the actor-director declared that he is “dead against” propaganda films since they are founded on “lies” that polarise the populace.
#WATCH | Abu Dhabi | “I told you, it’s propagandist films that I am against. It’s not enough if you write ‘true story’ just at the bottom as a logo. It has to really be true and that is not true,” says actor and politician Kamal Haasan on #TheKeralaStory pic.twitter.com/VSydksg1Z3

As per the actor, the phrase “true story” written at the bottom as a logo is insufficient. It must be accurate to own that title.
The Burning Controversy
After the trailer for “The Kerala Story” was released, criticism erupted surrounding the film. It claimed that more than 32000 Keralan women were recruited by ISIS and compelled to convert to Islam. Later, the figure was taken out of the trailer, and it appeared in the description that the plot included three Keralan women.
As per the Hindustan Times, many people referred to “The Kerala Story” as propaganda, which sparked a significant political debate. A few people on the internet voiced their disapproval of the movie, despite celebrities like Kangana Ranaut, Ram Gopal Varma, Vivek Agnihotri, and others standing up for it.
Adah Sharma, who plays the protagonist in “The Kerala Story,” is overjoyed with the movie’s popularity. She said on her Instagram account, “1st Female Film to Cross Net Collection India 200 Cr, Without Tamil Nadu & West Bengal,” when the film surpassed the Rs 200 crore club.
