Marvel Considering 'Stranger Things' actress for 'Fantastic Four'; Evans' Return Uncertain

Director Matt Shakman is currently considering a “Stranger Things 4” actress for the role of Sue Storm in the upcoming “Fantastic Four “movie. As Marvel fans eagerly await a glimpse of this latest project, the acquisition of the franchise by Disney signaled the movie’s imminent arrival. Marvel has now chosen its potential actors to portray Sue and Johnny Storm, iconic characters from the series. The question remains whether Chris Evans will reprise his role as Johnny Storm.

Amid the ongoing writers’ strike in Hollywood, a new development emerged regarding the “Fantastic Four” movie’s cast. Director Matt Shakman confirmed that Joseph Quinn, known for his role in “Stranger Things” season 4, and Vanessa Kirby are being considered for the roles of the Human Torch and the Invisible Woman, respectively. These two characters are central to the “Fantastic Four” group.

While Joseph Quinn’s involvement is nearly confirmed, Vanessa Kirby’s casting is still pending approval, along with other names like Mila Kunis and Margot Robbie. The casting decision comes from a reputable Marvel leaker page called “Above the Line.” Due to the SAG-AFTRA strike, the official casting announcement may be delayed until the strike is resolved. Marvel is also searching for the actors to play Reed Richards (Mr. Fantastic) and Ben Grimm (The Thing) to complete the team of four.

The replacement of these key roles may cause further delays in the project. Originally scheduled to begin shooting in 2024, the film’s anticipated release date in 2025 now faces uncertainty due to the current circumstances.
