American actor Mark Margolis, who played former drug lord Hector Salamanca in Breaking Bad and Good Call Saul, has died. According to her publisher, Margolis died at the age of 83.
Margolis died at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City after a short illness. His wife, Jacqueline, and son, Morgan, were at his bedside.
Self-described as “a genius actor”, Margolis has appeared in more than 60 films during his five-year career, including “Scarface”, “Ace Ventura” and “The Wrestler”.
“Salamanca” is the reason why Margolis attracts the largest audience.

In Crime , the movie director Salamanca, who can only communicate through the brass bell on his seat, dies in the theater. In 2012, he was nominated for an Emmy Award for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Drama Series.
Margolis was born in Philadelphia in 1939. After moving to New York, she worked with Stella Adler and started her stage career.
According to Deadline, Margolis has appeared as Bernie Madoff in more than 50 off-Broadway productions, including the 2010 regional production “Imagine Madoff.” “It’s unique.
We’ll never see it like this again,” Robert Kerker, director of Margolis, said in a statement. “A valued customer and a lifelong friend. I am lucky to have known him.
