Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone starrer Hindi movie “Tamasha” that released on Friday, Nov 27, 2015, has earned a reasonable Rs 10.87 crores on its first day at the box-office.
The movie directed by Imtiaz Ali was released on 2100 screens in India and 561 overseas.
The movie got mix reviews from analysts after it received an average of 55% occupancy in single screens and multiplexes for the morning
shows.
The Hindustan Times wrote a review with a title “Tamasha; Love, sex and lies” – “There is no emotional involvement here, no commitment, no agenda.
“There are absolutely no strings attached. Tamasha gives us the Bollywood version. Ved and Tara meet in Corsica.
“This is the kind of sun-kissed Mediterranean island where inhibitions are automatically checked in at immigration.”
Since no other movie got released this weekend, it is predicted that “Tamasha” box-office collections might improve this weekend.
In the US, due to Thanks Giving Holiday weekend, the movie is expected to do good collections as a large number of Indians reside there.
Lot of praise for the romantic chemistry between Ranbir and Deepika as this is their third outing after “Bachna Ae Haseeno” and “Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani”.
Actor Hrithik Roshan tweeted to appreciate the duo for their performance on creen., “Amazing people do amazing things . Congrats @deepikapadukone and my friend Ranbir for all d praise pouring in! Love!”
