Shah Rukh Khan’s highly anticipated film “Dunki” has finally hit the theatres, and early estimates suggest a strong opening day at the box office. While initial predictions eyed a ₹32 crore debut in India, the film’s actual performance might surprise everyone.
Early Buzz and Advance Bookings:
Despite mixed reviews from critics, “Dunki” generated considerable pre-release buzz due to Shah Rukh Khan’s immense popularity and intriguing premise. Advance bookings also showed promise, with reports suggesting collections of around ₹12 crore on Wednesday.
Opening Day Estimates:
Trade experts now predict “Dunki” to earn an estimated ₹30-35 crore nett in India on its first day, including all languages. This figure, while lower than Shah Rukh Khan’s previous film “Jawan” which had a massive ₹75 crore debut, is still considered encouraging for a comedy-drama like “Dunki.”
“Dunki” may face stiff competition from Salaar, another big-ticket film releasing on the same day. “Salaar,” directed by Prashanth Neel, has already created a huge buzz among the audience and has raked in Rs 35.23 crore from 16,83,871 advance bookings.
