With the hugely anticipated global launch of the new Call of Duty battle royale game Warzone Mobile happening on March 21st, long-time players of the original Call of Duty Mobile game have been wondering what will happen to their beloved title. Will the developers abandon it in favor of the shiny new Warzone experience?
In a statement posted on social media just a week before Warzone Mobile drops, the Call of Duty Mobile development team has reassured fans that their game is here to stay and will continue receiving fresh content updates.
‘No Plans to Change’ Breadth of New Content
“Call of Duty: Mobile will continue to get new content every season and there are no plans to change the breadth of content we bring to players,” the statement read. “Stay tuned for more info on exciting new content coming this year!”
These words from the dev team will surely be a relief to the millions of fans who have stuck with Call of Duty Mobile since its launch in 2019 and helped make it a massive success on phones and tablets worldwide.
Fans Had Expressed Concerns Over Playlist Changes
The reassuring statement from the developers comes after some Call of Duty Mobile players had grown concerned when a couple of popular maps, Shoot House and Alcatraz, were recently removed from playlists. With Warzone Mobile’s release on the horizon, some fans worried this was the start of resources being diverted from the original mobile game.
However, it now appears those map removals were only temporary changes. The core Call of Duty Mobile experience that shooter fans have come to love isn’t going anywhere, at least according to the developers’ latest statement.
New Warzone Mobile Bringing Battle Royale to Phones
The imminent arrival of Warzone Mobile represents Call of Duty finally bringing its massively popular battle royale experience to the mobile gaming world. While currently available on PC and consoles, the free-to-play Warzone will allow squads to battle it out in an entirely new way on their smartphones and tablets.
But even with this major new mobile release, the developers insist the original Call of Duty Mobile game that helped popularize the franchise for on-the-go players will still be supported with a steady stream of fresh seasons, maps, modes and other content for the foreseeable future.
