There is no dilemma about the fact that Magazines use Photoshop to enhance the appearance of the celebrities. It is simply an integral part of a business wherein the appearance is ‘almost’ everything. Magazine covers often display photo shopped images and that’s pretty much routine for most of us.

But the June-July issue of Maxim had Priyanka Chopra as the cover girl who also happens to be one of the most attractive women around the world. However, BuzzFeed.com observed and highlighted a serious flaw (not in the conventional sense) with the picture.

In the cover photo, Priyanka’s armpits are in clear vision and they appear to by silky smooth and inexplicably creaseless. Needless to say, those Barbie smooth armpits were a result of heavy photo shopping but what should have been a mundane observation, fuelled a sensational debate.

So much that, even ‘Perez Hilton’ tweeted about the same. Renowned news websites like ‘The Independent’ also took a note of this and tweeted regarding the issue.

As Priyanka Chopra’s armpits kept on garnering attention throughout the world, the entire scene turned into a debate questioning the use of Photoshop for making women’s body appear in a certain way.

To recall, this is not the first time Magazines have come under the scrutiny for overusing Photoshop tools. Celebs like Kerry Washington have spoken out against the unreal ‘appearance changing’ Photoshop techniques which hardly render a ‘real’ picture.

But then it was Priyanka Chopra and her armpits who were centre of attraction here and as witty as she is, she decided to refrain from commenting on the issue, instead uploaded a non-filtered, ‘unphotoshopped’ image of her giving an ample view of her natural armpits which btw are nonchalantly stunning.

The picture received a pile of admiration from her twitter followers and garnered massive support on the social media.

Unequivocally, she destroyed the controversy and wrote along “Here’s another ‘pit-stopping’ to add to the debate. #WilltheRealArmpitPleaseStandup#nofilter”; once again proving that she is an international star for a reason.
