'Srikanth' Movie Review; Rajkumar Rao beautifully captures a tale of resilience!

Helmed by Tushar Hiranandani, ‘Srikanth‘ is a biopic of the visually impaired business leader Srikanth Bolla. Starring Rajkummar Rao and Jyotika in lead roles, the film will hit the theatres on May 10, 2024.

‘Srikanth’ storyline

The story is set in Andhra Pradesh’s Machilipatnam, where a visually impaired boy takes birth. The father named the boy Srikanth after the famous Indian Cricketer. When the parents got to know about their son’s disability, they were devastated. However, Srikanth never let his disability become his weakness. Despite not having a vision, Srikanth gave vision to his dreams and passion.


The first half of the film showcases the challenges faced by Srikanth in his journey to fulfill his dreams. Starting from bullying to getting rejected from taking Science stream cause of his disability, the narrative shows us how Srikanth navigates through the hurdles with finesse and emerges out of it stronger.

The movie although has its fair share of humorous moments, keeps the audience on track and reminds them of the main theme which is about resilience and breaking barriers.

The movie says: “People like him cannot run; they can only fight back.” The movie also inspires the Srikanths’ of our society who are constantly looked down upon because of their disabilities. The movie aims to provide support and inspiration to those people who also want to achieve their goals like Srikanth!


Jyotika plays the role of Srikanth’s mentor, without whom Srikanth may have never succeeded. She provided the much-needed support to Srikanth and helped him in his endeavors. Rajkumar Rao delivered an outstanding performance from the get-go. It felt as if Rajkumar and Srikanth were one soul.
