Google’s Sundar Pichai Highlights PM Modi’s Vision at CEO Roundtable

The Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi met with top tech CEOs, including Google’s Sundar Pichai, in a high-profile roundtable held in New York, to discuss the future of technology and innovation in India. The event, hosted by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) School of Engineering, brought together leaders from companies like Nvidia, Adobe, Accenture, AMD, Biogen, HP, and IBM.

Sundar Pichai, CEO of Google, praised PM Modi’s commitment to transforming India through technology. “The Prime Minister has been focused on transforming India with his Digital India vision. He pushed us to continue making in India, designing in India. We are proud to now make our Pixel phones manufactured in India,” Pichai said.

Pichai emphasized the importance of artificial intelligence (AI) in India’s future, noting that PM Modi challenged tech giants to leverage AI for the benefit of the Indian people. “He is thinking about how AI can transform India in a way that benefits the people. He challenged us to think about applications in healthcare, education, and agriculture,” Pichai added.

Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang also shared his admiration for PM Modi’s enthusiasm for technology. “Every time I meet him, he wants to learn more about the technology. Artificial intelligence is a new industry and I am looking forward to partnering with India. We are partnering with many companies, start-ups, and IITs in India,” Huang said.

The roundtable focused on several key areas, including AI, quantum computing, biotechnology, life sciences, IT, and semiconductor technologies. PM Modi highlighted India’s strides in these fields and expressed optimism about the country’s growing role in the global tech landscape. “Also highlighted the strides made by India in this field. I am glad to see immense optimism towards India,” PM Modi said in a post on X.

The Prime Minister’s vision for India’s technological future was clear. “He has a clear vision, both in terms of the opportunity AI will create, but he wants to make sure that ultimately AI is there to benefit the people of India,” Pichai concluded.
