'Silo 2' production is on 'Haitus' as Hollywood protests continue

Filming of the second season of the Apple TV+ sci-fi thriller “The Silo” has been delayed due to Hollywood protests.

The show starring Rebecca Ferguson was originally scheduled to delay filming in the UK this week due to relocation, but now Apple is expected to extend the delay until further notice, Deadline notice.

Silo, based on Hugh Howe’s dystopian trilogy of novels, was filmed at Hoddesdon Studios in Hertfordshire with a cast that included Tim Robbins and Rashida Jones. Produced by AMC Studios.

Another Apple sci-fi show “Foundation” is also expected to be affected by cast and writer strikes in its third season, Deadline has learned.

Based on Isaac Asimov’s novel and starring Jared Harris and Lee Pace, the series was filmed in Prague, Czech Republic, but Apple has yet to confirm the third season. Produced by Skydance TV.

Silo quickly became Apple’s number one player and the top victim of the UK attack.

Deadline reported last week that filming for the second season of Andor will not be completed after the cast leaves. Related films include Rami Malek’s thriller “The Amateur”, “Deadpool 3” and “Wicked”.

The show became the #1 TV series. Silo was developed by AMC Studios for Apple TV+. Graham Yost, Hugh Howey, and Ferguson are executive producers, as well as directing the first three episodes of Morten Tyldum (Defending Jacob, The Imitation Game), Nina Jack, Fred Golan, Rémi Aubuchon, and Ingrid Escajeda.

Ferguson’s Juliet leads to the shocking discovery of a conspiracy hidden in a silo belonging to Sims (Common) and Bernard (Tim Robbins) from the IT and Justice departments, respectively. The revelation came after he had access to limited unaffected images stored on the hard drive that showed what the outside world looked like.

While everyone underground sees the grass and the lifeless exterior from the big screens in the restaurant, Juliet witnesses the real world outside, a lush, vibrant green landscape full of life.

We hope that the great actors and writers get their fair share and we can re-broadcast the continuation of this fantastic series. Silo is now live on Apple TV+.
