
In a shocking helicopter crash, Agustin Escobar, CEO of Rail Infrastructure at Siemens Mobility, and his family were killed. The tech company CEO, along with his family, went on a sightseeing tour when the helicopter plummeted into the Hudson River, killing everyone on board, including the pilot.
What exactly happened?
A single-engine Bell 206 helicopter crashed into the Hudson River. Reportedly, the helicopter belonged to the sightseeing company. According to New York Mayor Eric Adams, the Spanish family died after the helicopter plummeted into the Hudson River at 3:15 PM on April 10.
Adams also added there were two adults and three children aged between 4, 5, and 11 on board, who received help from the divers. Four people were declared dead on scene, whereas the other two were rushed to the hospital, where they were also pronounced dead. Divers continued their search today to find the remaining body parts.
What’s next?
The investigation will be conducted by the Federal Aviation Administration, NTSB, and National Transportation Safety Board on this incident. The Spanish Prime Minister described the crash as an “unimaginable tragedy.”

Trump also shared a post on Truth Social and offered condolences to the family, mentioning that the investigations are underway. “Announcements as to what exactly took place, and how, will be made shortly!” he wrote. As per authorities, the helicopter crashed “inverted,” as the helicopter’s silver skids were floating. The U.S. Coast Guard restricted boat traffic; later, it was opened for people with permission from authorities.
New York has ethereal landmarks, including the Statue of Liberty, Wall Street, etc. The tours are exorbitant and often cost $274 per person. Concern rises among people regarding safety. The investigation might reveal the cause of the crash.
