‘Resident Playbook’ Episode 5: A New Chapter in the Lives of First-Year OBGYN Residents

The spin-off series of Hospital Playlist, “Resident Playbook,” is an ongoing television series created by Shin Won Ho and Lee Woo Jung. It stars Go Youn Jung, Shin Si Ah, Kang You Seok, Han Ye Ji, and Jung Joon Won in the main cast.

For fans of Hospital Playlist, there’s no introduction necessary. Although Resident Playbook is a new, fresh show, the old fans are well familiar with the kind of show Hospital Playlist was.

Set at the Jongno branch of Yulje Medical Center, “Resident Playbook” depicts life and friendship among the university hospital professors and doctors.

It follows the lives of young, first-year obstetrics and gynaecology residents who try to pave their own path by entering an unpopular department in the era of low birth rates.

Despite the low birth rates, these characters choose this field for their own personal reasons that set a heartfelt tone to the overall narrative.

Release Date of Resident Playbook

The show was initially scheduled to air in March but had to be postponed due to a medical strike. Resident Playbook now premieres on tvN, with new episodes airing every Saturday and Sunday. The first episode aired on 12 April 2025.

Where to Watch?

Air time for these episodes is 21:10 KST, and it’s available for streaming on Netflix in selected regions. Run time for each episode is somewhere between 70 to 90 minutes, depending on the story.

The fifth episode of “Resident Playbook” will air on April 26, 2025, Saturday.
