On May 21, 2025, Bandai Namco Filmworks officially announced the upcoming anime movie “Toritsukare Otoko”, set to premiere in Fall 2025. Adapted from Shinji Ishii’s 2001 novel, the film is being produced by Shin-Ei Animation, the renowned studio behind Crayon Shin-Chan.

The movie follows Giuseppe, a young man who becomes intensely obsessed with things for short periods. His life takes a dramatic turn when he meets Pechka, a reserved balloon seller. Overwhelmed by his emotions, Giuseppe falls deeply in love with her, leading to a heartfelt and unpredictable journey.

A Musical Romance with a Unique Art Style

The “Toritsukare Otoko” adaptation is not just a romance—it is also a musical anime film, adding a fresh dimension to the storytelling. Directed by Wataru Takahashi, known for his work on Crayon Shin-Chan films, the movie features a distinctive art style that sets it apart from conventional anime.
