Police Investigation Uncover Evidence of a Planned Murder
As per police reports three men were hired to kill her husband. The three of them along with Sonam Raghuvanshi are held under police custody for three days at the Meghalaya Police Station. Police reports suggest that Sonam’s cousin’s brother Jitendra Raghuvanshi might be linked to the murder case. The police found a UPI transaction of Rs 50,000 from Jitendra’s account to the three hitmen who were hired to kill Raja. The identified men are Akash Rajput, Vishal Singh Chauha, and Anand Kurmi. It has come to light that Sonam promised payment to the hitmen, in exchange for carrying out the murder.
After murdering her husband, Sonam rushed to her homestay, changed into a burqa and planned an escape route. Sonam devised the murder plan along with her boyfriend Raj Kushwaha. Sonam confessed that she was coerced into this marriage. Police discovered a blood-stained raincoat, mangalsutra, a ring and CCTV footage which serves as evidence.
Further investigations reveal that it was the fourth attempt to murder Raja, the first three being in Guwahati, Nongriat, and Mawalakhyat.
Family Reactions
