On Social Media Day, the founder of Aytexcel Pvt. Ltd. notes that digital content is now transitioning to the big screen
In 2025, social media is becoming increasingly visual and engaging. Moving beyond text-heavy posts, the focus is now on media-driven content, where videos and visuals are gaining prominence. With creators and influencers mainly focusing on Instagram and YouTube, vibrant content accompanied by good-quality music is on the rise. The way this content is consumed is also changing.
Due to its growing impact on society, June 30 is observed every year as Social Media Day. The occasion is also ideal for assessing trends, such as wide-screen experiences, which are actively increasing social media engagement, especially with new-age devices like smart projectors. Most visual-rich content—be it a live performance, a travel vlog, or a gamer’s commentary—can now be enjoyed on bigger screens. Beyond passive consumption, videos that require real engagement offer an elevated experience when viewed on larger screens with enhanced audio quality.
“Research tells us that people spend an average of 144 minutes daily on social media. The influence of social media has created a demand for vertical projection, not only among creators but also among casual viewers seeking ways to experience content on the big screen. Smart projectors can fulfil this demand as they offer portrait modes and can be connected with smartphones through wired HDMI or wireless options like Wi-Fi,” says Sushil Motwani, the founder of Aytexcel Pvt. Ltd, which is the official distributor of Formovie projectors in India
Compelling content in 4K is now available on YouTube, while Instagram can be experienced in 1080p (FHD). “Watching these high-quality videos on smartphones will not give that immersive experience. Moreover, families and friends are increasingly using smart projectors to watch Instagram Reels and YouTube videos together, as collective viewing builds stronger connections. Everyone enjoying the content on a big screen can even turn casual scrolling sessions into engaging social events,” adds Mr Motwani.
Meanwhile, content creators are leveraging high-definition smart projectors to preview or showcase their work. The cinematic quality enhances the visual appeal, allowing creators to present their videos, photography, or digital art in a way that connects more deeply with audiences.
“The preview, where every minute detail is showcased and highlighted, helps creators to carry out corrections and edits before the final output is released online. We are also happy to see that the users are consuming the content in rich and true colours through 4K projectors with a wide colour gamut and technologies like ALPD®. They will give more precise calibration and a new dimension to the viewing experience,” concludes Mr Motwani.
