A brand-new trailer has been released for the much-awaited anime film ‘Alice in Wonderland: Dive in Wonderland’, set to hit Japanese theaters on August 29, 2025.
Produced by Studio P.A. Works and directed by Toshiya Shinohara, the film reimagines Lewis Carroll’s timeless fantasy through a modern anime lens.
The trailer introduces a vibrant, dreamlike world where Alice, voiced by Maika Pugh, is joined by Rise, a contemporary Japanese student played by Nanoka Hara (known for Suzume).
Together, they navigate a surreal Wonderland filled with familiar faces like the Cheshire Cat (Toshiyuki Morikawa), Queen of Hearts (Mayu Matsuoka), and Mad Hatter (Koji Yamamoto).

Cast, Characters, and Visual Style: A Whimsical Reimagining
The film boasts a star-studded voice cast, including:
- Maika Pugh as Alice
- Nanoka Hara as Rise
- Mayu Matsuoka as Queen of Hearts
- Koji Yamamoto as Mad Hatter
- Kappei Yamaguchi as White Rabbit
- Toshiyuki Morikawa as Cheshire Cat
The animation, handled by P.A. Works, blends watercolor textures with digital flourishes, giving Wonderland a painterly, dreamlike aesthetic. The theme song, “Zukan” by SEKAI NO OWARI, adds a hauntingly whimsical tone to the trailer.
“This isn’t just a retelling — it’s a cultural remix,” noted anime critic Yuki Tanaka. “It’s Carroll meets Kyoto.”
