DeVANS Modern Breweries’ single malts—Adambaraa and Manshaa—have earned top honors at two of the world’s most prestigious whisky competitions.
The wins mark a turning point for Indian spirits, which are now being recognized not just for volume, but for quality and craftsmanship.
Double Triumph for DeVANS
Manshaa was awarded International Whisky of the Year 2025 and received a Grand Gold at Meininger’s International Spirits Award (ISW) in Germany.
Adambaraa, meanwhile, clinched Best Single Malt Indian Whisky and Best Indian Whisky at the International Whisky Competition (IWC) held in Las Vegas, USA.

Crafted in the Himalayas, Celebrated Worldwide
Adambaraa is distilled in Jammu and known for its bold smoky character, framed by citrus, green notes, and spicy undertones. Whisky critic Jim Murray praised it for its “charming smokiness, with peat in sparkling form.”
Manshaa, a non-peated single malt matured in American ex-bourbon casks, offers a deep amber glow and notes of dried apricots, honey, and caramel. Murray called it “a malt lover’s dream” and “the closest to a high-class Scottish malt found anywhere in the world.”
India’s Whisky Renaissance
These accolades come amid a broader surge in global recognition for Indian spirits. Earlier this month, Himmaleh Spirits’ Bandarful liqueur was declared World’s Best Liqueur at the USA Spirits Ratings in San Francisco.
The competition, judged by leading U.S. industry experts, evaluates entries on quality, value, and packaging.

A New Chapter for Indian Distillers
“These awards prove that Indian distillers are not just catching up—they’re setting new standards,” said GianChand Singh, master blender at DeVANS.
With unique climate conditions, diverse ingredients, and skilled craftsmanship, Indian single malts are now rivaling the best from Scotland and Japan.
The wins by Adambaraa and Manshaa are not just victories for DeVANS—they’re a toast to India’s growing influence in the premium whisky world.
