Strengthening Transparency and Accountability
According to department sources, the Commissionerate oversees 18 police stations across Hubballi and Dharwad, handling an average of 2,000–2,500 complaints per month. The new initiative is expected to help resolve nearly 30% of pending cases through direct communication and faster follow‑up.
Senior officers have emphasized that such meetings will be held regularly, allowing citizens to raise concerns about investigation delays, documentation, or coordination with other departments.
Public Response
Local residents have welcomed the move, calling it a step toward transparent policing. The initiative also aligns with Karnataka Police’s broader goal of improving community engagement and grievance redressal.
By bringing complainants and officers face‑to‑face, the Hubballi–Dharwad Police hope to build stronger relationships and ensure justice is delivered promptly and fairly.
