MUMBAI – The production of the most awaited Hindi action-thriller “King” starring Shah Rukh Khan is in the spotlight for the wrong reasons. Unauthorized set images featuring Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone have flooded social media, prompting an immediate and fierce reaction from director Siddharth Anand.

The “leaked” visuals, which reportedly capture the lead pair during an intense international filming schedule, have racked up millions of views within hours. While the footage has ignited a firestorm of fan theories, it has created a massive security headache for the production house, which has spent months trying to keep the film’s aesthetic under lock and key.
Siddharth Anand, known for his perfectionism and high-budget spectacles, issued a stern warning to both onlookers and the production crew. Expressing his frustration, Anand clarified that the breach is a direct hit on the creative team’s hard work.
“A film like King is a massive collaborative effort, and these leaks are a total violation of our craft,” Anand remarked. “We spend an incredible amount of time designing the visual language of the characters. Seeing it leaked through a blurry phone lens is beyond disappointing. Moving forward, we are enforcing a strict zero-tolerance policy.”

The director further hinted that legal action is being considered against individuals responsible for circulating “spoiler” content that compromises the theatrical experience.
Security Blackout on Set
Following the viral incident, the King set has reportedly been turned into a “no-phone zone.” Industry insiders suggest that even non-essential staff must now deposit their personal devices before entering the filming area. This iron-clad approach mirrors the secrecy levels typically reserved for major global franchises.

The collaboration between Khan and Padukone is a primary reason for the intense public curiosity. While plot details are being guarded like state secrets, the leaked photos suggest a grittier, more intense role for Khan than what audiences saw in his 2023 blockbusters.

Anand’s primary concern remains the audience’s first impression. He noted that the “magic” of cinema is built on surprise, which is effectively stolen when grainy photos hit the internet prematurely.
“Every leak takes away a piece of the magic,” the director warned. “We want the audience to experience the scale of King on a 70mm screen for the first time—not on a small phone display while scrolling through a feed.”
