XRP Joins Elite Retail-Approved List
Only four tokens now carry retail approval from Hong Kong regulators. XRP joins Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Solana on that short list, a milestone for a token long restricted to professional investors in the city.
Traders get two main routes at launch. Flash Trade and OTC pairs cover XRP against both USD and HKD, all settled on the XRP Ledger.
We saw strong fundamentals building behind the launch too. XRP spot ETFs have pulled in $1.49 billion in cumulative inflows, while tokenized real-world assets on the XRP Ledger surged past $4 billion, up from roughly $150 million a year earlier, according to data tracked by Evernorth.
Other Major Cryptos on the Move
Bitcoin traded near $64,363 early Wednesday, up modestly from the previous session, per Fortune’s markets desk. Its market cap sits around $1.33 trillion, still commanding roughly 56% dominance across the crypto sector.
Ethereum climbed to $1,912, gaining over 2% in 24 hours, with a market cap near $231 billion, according to CoinMarketCap data cited by CoinGabbar. Total crypto market capitalization rose to $2.28 trillion overall, a 0.4% gain, even as the Fear and Greed Index held at 29, signaling lingering caution among traders.
Ripple’s stablecoin RLUSD also expanded supply by 45% during the first quarter, per Messari figures. Growth like that reinforces why Hong Kong keeps courting blockchain infrastructure players.
Momentum now shifts toward institutional follow-through. Analysts expect more retail token approvals if XRP’s rollout proves smooth over the coming weeks.
