Chickpet Abandoned Vehicle Drive Moves Cars to Lakkasandra
Lakkasandra is the designated yard for the Central Corporation. The Hindu earlier reported that GBA and Bengaluru Traffic Police have been running a citywide clearance since July. Citizens can still flag vehicles on the ASTraM app and dial 1533 for civic issues.
City data from mid-year put thousands of abandoned vehicles on the list across five corporations. Notices usually give owners seven days before towing. Unclaimed vehicles can later go to auction or scrap under the stated rules.
Chickpet is a tight, busy market belt. Abandoned cars eat footpath space and slow traffic. Locals who saw the tow trucks said the stretch looks more open after the lift.
