Grand Theft Auto VI will not stream to a PC on November 19. Xbox chief strategy officer Matthew Ball said that on October 7. The game still launches on Xbox that day. It will not stream as an exclusive either.
The Verge had reported hours earlier that Xbox held exclusive streaming rights. Tom Warren wrote that chief executive Asha Sharma told staff Microsoft was about to do something around the game that “no other platform holder is doing.” Sources told the site that meant a cloud deal. That would have let a PC player stream the game without a Series X, a Series S, or a PS5. Rockstar still has not announced a PC version.
Console only, for now
“While the excitement for GTAVI and XBOX is great to see, it has also led to some misreporting,” Ball wrote on X. “We are looking forward to launching GTAVI on XBOX November 19, though the game will not be streaming exclusively or to PC.” Warren later said the cloud deal “appears to be more complicated” than he first reported, and he apologized. Eurogamer noted that Ball did not rule out streaming to Xbox consoles.
🚨 BREAKING: Rockstar Games has reportedly spent $25 MILLION to change the color of Miami’s sky as part of its GTA 6 marketing takeover.
Miami’s sky is now displaying GTA VI’s signature pink and purple colours, matching the iconic Leonida, Vice City aesthetic.

A player who owns an Xbox and buys the game may still be able to stream it to that console. Ball’s line shuts the usual path: a browser or a phone app. The Verge read it the same way. Web clients that normally open Xbox Cloud Gaming may not get this game.
The cloud-hour cap starts the same month. From November, Game Pass Ultimate drops to 15 hours a month, Premium to 10, and Essential to 5, unless a player pays for more. Xbox is also testing a free ad-supported tier with Insiders. None of that puts the game on a PC on day one. Rockstar has not commented.
