Gabriela Isler, a 25-year-old television presenter of Venezuela, was crowned Miss Universe in Moscow on Saturday.
A total of 86 contestants were seen participating on stage in red and black cocktail dresses and later in red and black bikinis.
The judges then chose final 16, for bikini round, which then came down to final 10 in next round. After strutting in sequinned evening gowns, final five were chosen for the interview round.
In the decisive interview round, one of the judges, rock star Steven Tyler from Aerosmith asked Isler, what her greatest fear was.
Speaking in Spanish through an interpreter she said that she believes in overcoming all the fears which in turn will make one stronger.
Last year’s Miss Universe winner Olivia Culpo of the United States of America placed the diamond crown on Isler. This is the seventh time that Venezuela has won Miss Universe crown.
After her win, Miss Isler was seen waving to journalists while standing next to the show’s owner, Donald Trump.
Speaking to journalists she said that she felt a lot of emotions, and is still in shock. She felt blessed, and happy being there. The show also had Tyler performing ‘Dream on’, standing on top of a white grand piano.
