After a series of targeted killings that left eleven civilians dead this month, the security has been further increased, and searches are intensified across the Kashmir valley, especially in the capital Srinagar.
The authorities have suspended the speed of mobile internet services in some parts of Srinagar’s old city and some districts of south Kashmir, where the attacks have been reported lately. Several checkpoints and roadblocks are erected across the capital Srinagar.

The number of security forces deployed around key installations such as the secretariat and the airport has increased.
Bila Ahmad, a Srinagar resident, said that the police force and CRPF force are patrolling in large numbers, and all the vehicles are searched. Another resident said that the attacks had changed the city’s atmosphere, and everyone was in a state of terror. Many people prefer to move out of the town due to the deteriorating situation. The silence in the valley is uneasy.
Police inquiries
Police have detained and questioned hundreds of people to probe into the killings of innocent civilians. The police killed thirteen terrorists in the last week, and the insurgency operations are intensified. The bulletproof mobile bunker vehicles and CCTV surveillance are enhanced. In addition, the women paramilitary forces are deployed in Srinagar’s Lal Chowk for search operations.
