Photos: SRK, Deepika attend Juhi Chawla’s Brother Bobby’s Funeral

The last rites of Sanjeev Chawla, actor Juhi Chawla’s brother were performed at Banganga Tank in Malabar Hill around 5 PM on Sunday.

His last rites were performed by his wife Anuradha, while Juhi was seen lending support. Close friend and costar Shah Rukh Khan flew down from Chennai and was seen consoling the entire family. He was in Chennai to attend the music launch of Kochadaiyaan, Rajinikanth’s latest film.

Also seen with him was actress Deepika Padukone, who too flew down from Chennai and rushed to the funeral. Juhi’s husband Jay Mehta was also present for the last rites, so were seen prominent fraternity names like Sujoy Ghosh, Farah Khan, actress Madhoo with husband Anand Shah, Anubhav Sinha, Shaina NC among others.

Sanjeev Chawla was the CEO of Shah Rukh Khan’s Red Chilies Entertainment, before you slipped into coma following a massive attack while he was dining at one of restaurants in South Mumbai in April 2010.

He remained in coma for four years, in spite of all the treatments, and was admitted in Jaslok Hospital in Mumbai. Juhi is known to be very close to her brother and has been praying for his revival for the longest time.

He passed away at 7:00 a.m. on Sunday morning after being in coma for more than three years.

Juhi’s tweeted on her account later in the day, “This is the perfect screenplay…look at how my brother timed it … He gave me the biggest gift of my lifetime…saw its release… And went away…” (sic).
