Australia won by 20 runs via the DLS method in the first T20I of the five-match series. Australia held Sri Lanka to 122/8 in 19 overs after scoring 149/9.

Earlier, Ben McDermott top-scored for Australia with 53 runs off 41 balls, helping the team to 149 for nine in 20 overs. Meanwhile, Wanindu Hasaranga grabbed three wickets for the Lankans, while Dushmantha Chameera, Binura Fernando, and Chamika Karunaratne had two dismissals.

In the second match of the tour, Australia defeated Sri Lanka in a super over. Australia and Sri Lanka are locked at 164 for six and eight wickets, respectively.

The Super Over:
Even though Nissanka had possibly the best game performance, Captain Dasun Shanaka, who had also scored cleanly 34 off 23, decided to open alongside Dinesh Chandimal. It didn’t work out. In the super over, the Lankans scored 5 runs. Stoinis finished the match with two fours off balls two and three, bowled by Hasaranga.

Highlights from the 3rd T20I between Australia and Sri Lanka

At the Manuka Oval in Canberra, Australia defeated Sri Lanka by six wickets in the third T201 match. The hosts now have an unbeatable 3-0 advantage in the five-match series. Despite losing both openers Ben McDermott and Ashton Agar early in the innings, Australia strolled to a 122-run victory.

As Australia reduced Sri Lanka to 121 for 6, captain Aaron Finch and Glenn Maxwell built the platform for their pursuit before Josh Inglis, and Richardson claimed three wickets. In addition to Richardson, Josh Hazlewood, Ashton Agar, and Glenn Maxwell have each taken a wicket. After the players were restricted to 40 for 4 at one stage, Sri Lanka’s skipper Dasun Shanaka and senior batter Dinesh Chandimal performed courageous knocks.
