Springsteen’s ‘stunning’ new album coming this fall: Rolling Stone founder

Bruce Springsteen’s next album is apparently coming sooner than later, according to Rolling Stone founder Jann Wenner.

In a new interview with Billboard magazine published Tuesday, Wenner was asked about the current state of pop and hip-hop. Wenner noted how he’s still listening to much of the music of his youth, adding: “There’s a new Bruce (Springsteen) record coming out this fall, which is stunning. I’m listening to that.”

That’s news to fans who’ve heard rumors of a new Boss record, likely solo as opposed to full E Street Band, for months. Last month, fans online circulated a rumor that it could be a collection of soul covers. This has yet to be proven correct or otherwise.

Springsteen, 72, has not formally announced the album. His last LP was the excellent “Letter to You” E Street Band reunion album in fall 2020.

As reported by NME, Springsteen will join Wenner, a longtime friend, Tuesday night for a Q&A surrounding Wenner’s new memoir, “Like A Rolling Stone” at 92nd Street Y in New York.

Springsteen and the E Street Band’s 2023 world tour begins Feb. 1 in Tampa, Fla. They play Prudential Center in Newark on April 14.
