A NEW guaranteed income plan in Virginia will see hundreds of Americans obtain monthly $500 payments for two years.
Administrators have said that applications for the ARISE program in Alexandria, Virginia, can be filed from October 31.
Officials have revealed that 170 people will be randomly selected in a lottery.
According to city officials, successful applicants will receive payments worth $500 for 24 months, and the first check is expected to be issued in January 2023.
No strings attached exist, meaning recipients can spend the money how they wish.
Residents have been warned that they must be 18 or older and have an income at or below 50 percent of the Area Median Income.
Information will be provided to those needing help completing the form from October 25 – days before the application opens.
Officials have warned that documents can only be filed online as the process is supposed to be “mobile friendly.”
Applications can be filed between October 31 and November 9.
