Stunt Accident Injures Six Crewmembers Of 'Gladiator 2'

Six crew members sustained non-life-threatening burn injuries due to an accident on the set of Paramount’s Gladiator sequel in Morocco during a scheduled stunt, the studio announced on Friday, June 10.

According to a source, as of Friday, four of the six patients were in stable condition at the hospital.

Two more had local treatment and were then released.

Paramount released a statement saying, “The safety and full medical services teams on-site were able to act quickly so that those who were impacted immediately received necessary care. They are all in stable condition and continue to receive treatment,”.

“The well-being of the cast and crew is of the utmost importance to us, and we have strict health and safety procedures in place on all our productions. We will continue monitoring the situation and taking all necessary precautions as we resume production.” the Paramount representative continued.

The accident happened near the end of the shooting day. Paul Mescal, Pedro Pascal, Denzel Washington, Connie Nielsen, and the rest of the cast are all unharmed.

One of the greatest earning films the year it came out, “Gladiator” went on to win the best picture and Actor Oscars for Russell Crowe.

As per Variety, Oscar nominee Paul Mescal, Pedro Pascal, Denzel Washington, and Connie Nielsen appear in this grandiose sequel. With David Scarpa penning the narrative, the previous movie’s director Ridley Scott is back in charge of the camera. On November 22, 2024, the sequel is expected to be released in theatres.
