In a recent public meeting held in his home constituency of Pithapuram, actor-turned-politician Pawan Kalyan expressed gratitude to the people for choosing him as their representative in the Andhra Pradesh State Assembly. However, amidst cheers from his fans, he addressed whether he would continue making films after assuming the role of Deputy Chief Minister.
His supporters’ chant of “OG” prompted Pawan to smile, but he quickly responded, “Do you think I’ll have the time to make films?” His focus lies elsewhere: “I made a promise. First, I want to concentrate on making this constituency better. No one should fault me for at least not filling potholes or building new roads. OG chestava, kya ji, ante mari em cheppanu?” (What will I do if someone questions why I’m busy shooting for OG instead?)
While Pawan’s commitment to public service is evident, he hasn’t entirely written off his film career. He asked his filmmakers for time, acknowledging, “With that fear in my heart, I even told my filmmakers—you must forgive me, but I must concentrate on serving people first. I will shoot films only when I find the time for it.”
