Netanyahu warns ‘grave mistake’ after Hezbollah’s ‘Assassination’ attempt

Netanyahu's 'grave mistake' remark

After a drone was launched towards his home in the Israeli town of Caesarea, Mr. Netanyahu issued the warning.

He further cautioned that those targeting Israelis would face significant repercussions.

Mr. Netanyahu called Hezbollah “Iran’s proxy” in a post on X on Saturday, adding that neither he nor Israel will be deterred from waging war on the nation’s adversaries by the assassination attempt.

“Today’s attempt to murder my wife and me by Iranian armed Hezbollah was a grave mistake. To safeguard our future, Mr. Netanyahu stated “This will not deter me or the State of Israel from embarking on our just war against our enemies.”

Israel is committed to achieving its war goals and “changing the security reality in our region for generations,” the prime minister stated, warning Iran and the “Axis of Resistance,” which includes Hezbollah, Hamas, and Yemen’s Houthis.

The speaker firmly addresses Iran and its allies, emphasizing Israel’s determination to combat terrorism and its sponsors, rescue hostages in Gaza, repatriate citizens near the northern border, and strongly penalize anyone targeting Israeli citizens. The statement underscores Israel’s resolve to achieve military objectives and reshape the security environment for generations to come.

After Hamas declared that it would exact retribution for the death of its leader Yahya Sinwar in an Israeli strike in Gaza, a drone was fired at Mr. Netanyahu’s residence on Saturday.

“An unmanned aerial vehicle, or UAV, was directed against the prime minister’s Caesarean home. But everyone is safe.

The Israeli military reported intercepting two out of the three drones launched from Lebanon on Saturday.

Nearly 1,200 Israelis were slain and more than 250 were kept hostage amid the October 7, 2023, attacks on Israel, which Sinwar seemingly plotted. After his predecessor, Ismail Haniyeh, was shot to death in Tehran, Iran, Sinwar, who was killed on Wednesday, gained leadership of Hamas.
